October - Month of the Rosary
The entire beautiful fall month of October, is dedicated to
the Rosary. We will have many opportunities to pray the
Rosary together as a Faith Community. In Bishop Ricken's
Pastoral Letter, "Encountering Jesus in the Eucharist," he
talks about his 5 Alive. One of the 5 Alive is praying the
Rosary. On Saturday, October 7, the Feast of Our Lady of
the Rosary, parishioner, Scott Crevier, will lead an outdoor
Rosary Rally on the east lawn of the church at 3 p.m. Please
bring a lawn chair. Scott also prays the rosary every
Monday at 8 p.m. online at RosaryGarden.net on YouTube.
Then, beginning Tuesday, October 10, we start our 6th
Annual 9-Day Rosary Novena. Each evening from 6:30 p.m.
to 7:05 p.m., we pray the Rosary in the Daily Chapel. This is
a beautiful time to offer your rosary for a particular intention.
Our Blessed Mother can help intercede for you to her Son.
We will conclude our Novena on Wednesday, October 18 ,
at 6:30 p.m. with a Rosary Procession followed by Mass
with Father Jim. Our Faith Formation students will also
participate on that final evening. When we aren't praying the
Rosary as a community, you can pray it at home as a family
or individually. And if you are new to the Rosary, this is an
excellent time to try it out. Make it an extra special month of
prayer!
